The best time to visit Kedarnath is during the early summer months of May and June, right after the temple doors officially open for pilgrims. The weather during this time is pleasantly cool, making the steep trek much easier to handle. September to late October is another fantastic window to plan your visit. The heavy monsoon rains have usually washed the valley by then, leaving the mountain views incredibly clear and lush green. I highly recommend completely avoiding July and August because heavy monsoons cause frequent landslides and road blockages in Uttarakhand, which can be quite risky and delay your trip for days. Winter is out of the question since the temple closes due to extreme snowfall. Just plan around those two clear weather windows, gather your friends or family, and you will have an amazing pilgrimage once you book your tempo traveller on rent in Delhi.
